Buddhism is one of the important religions of the world. Albeit Lord Buddha was not born in Andhra Desa. The contribution of Andhra Desa to Buddhism is not small. Famous Buddhist stupas and viharas as seen at Amaravati, Nagarjunakonda, Bhattiprolu, Guntupalli, Chandavaram are only a few to name in Andhra Desa. With the passing time, new discoveries on Buddhism are pouring in from different corners. Recent discoveries of Totalkonda, Bavikonda, Pavuralakonda etc. from Andhra Pradesh throw welcome light on the subject.
